Tonbridge is one of the trial areas for free travel for under 16s within Kent.

Personally speaking I think this is a great idea - encourage children to be independent rather than getting parents to ferry them around in the car all of the time. I'm sure I remember walking / getting the bus to friends' houses when I was that sort of age.
